Kyley Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in piano performance from the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Kyley also received pedagogical and performance training from the North Carolina School of the Arts, Salem College, and Wake Forest University. She studied "injury preventative technique" at Salem College under the direction of Barbara Lister-Sink, author of critically acclaimed DVD series "Freeing the Caged Bird-Developing Well-Coordinated, Injury Preventive Piano Technique."
Kyley has been performing for 30 years and teaching private lessons for 20 years. In 2001, she studied piano at the St. Petersburg Conservatory in St. Petersburg, Russia. Other performances include the Georgia Philharmonic Orchestra, Winston Salem Community Orchestra, various rock cover bands, and studio session work. Ms. Smith has experience with all levels of instruction. She is a member of the following organizations: MTNA (Music Teacher's National Association), ACM (American College of Musicians) BMI as a Composer (Broadcast Music Inc.), SAA (Suzuki Association of the Americas), ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal British Schools of Music), CCMTA (Cobb County Music Teachers Association). Hobbies include: studying foreign languages, traveling to the Balkans to perform, chess, and experiencing/studying various musical cultures around the world.
